Mongolia is the new bright light of democracy in our world : PM Modi to Mongolian Parliament

Mangolia (web team): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that Mongolia is the new bright light of democracy for the world, hailing the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between New Delhi and Ulaanbaatar.

The Prime Minister, who was addressing the Mongolian Parliament, is the first foreign leader to address the members on Sunday, a holiday.

“Mongolia is the new bright light of democracy. Your country reminds us how beautiful this world is. It's an honour to address the Parliament of Mongolia; it's a special privilege to do so in 25th year of democracy in Mongolia. I’m deeply grateful for your generosity in hosting me on a Sunday, I’m humbled by warmth, welcome and wonderful hospitality,” said Prime Minister Modi, while addressing the Mongolian Parliament at the State Great Khural.

PM Narendra Modi addresses Indian community in Shanghai

  • The best part of my visit was the meetings I had with the youth, at two different functions
  • There is no part of the world not affected by terrorism. We who follow "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" hold the strength to fight terrorism. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, 'the world is one family'. And India knows it.
  • Whole world is a family. Languages may vary, other features may differ but entire world is a family and thats what we have been taught.
  • No one would have made me prime minister by looking at my bio-data.
  • I had not imagined that a year later on the same day (16th May) I would get an opportunity like this.
  • * Last year this time the world reverberated - dukh bhare din beetay re bhaiya.

    * The world is seeing this visit very closely. The President of China welcomed another leader in a place outside Beijing.  I am very grateful to the President of China for welcoming our delegation in Xi'an.
