Sharoz Dawa: IPS Officer Sangeeta Kalia who aspired to be like the Kavita Chaudhary, who played the role of an IPS officer in the popular TV serial UDAAN in the 90s finally fulfilled her dream and became the real-life hero. Even her father Dharam Pal used to encourage her on her every step towards her dream. Even her father used to dream that two decades her daughter would become the police chief of the district, where he used to once serve as Mr. Pal was a painter in the Fatehabad police.Her love for Police force and social service started when she was in her adolescence.
IPS Sangeeta Kalia, the daughter of painter shows the courage
IPS Officer Sangeeta Kalia Cleared Civil Service Exam in the 3rd attempt and Fulfilled her dream of becoming an IPS Officer.
It was in 2010 when Mr. Dharam Pal took retirement from the Fatehabad police and in the same time his daughter joined the Haryana Police as an IPS Officer. At present, IPS Officer Sangeeta Kalia is the Superintendent of police, Fatehabad. On pointing towards the conference room of the police lines, she said that this wall was painted by her father. Sangeeta’s eyes were filled with tears.
IPS Officer Sangeeta Kalia completed her schooling and graduation from Bhiwani and then did her MA in economics. Thereafter she appeared in UPSC examinations in 2005 was not able to qualify.In her second attempt, she was qualified for the railway services but she refused to join it. In her third attempt in 2009 Sangeeta was able to fulfill her dream and turn it into reality.
The Fatehabad Police today claimed to have seized a gang of robbers as they arrested four members of them. The accused who were caught are Virender, a Hissar resident, Sanjeev alias Sandeep, Shamsher and Satish of Fatehabad district.Briefing to APS of babushahi news, Sangeeta Kalia IPS Supt of Police of Fatehabad district said that they got many complaints regarding the unauthorized use of ATM cards of the people and how they are cheated and robbed by the criminals. They then made a team under SHO of Ratia so as to arrest the criminals.Acting on the plan the police team arrested the four accused along with a number swift car on Bhuna road Fatehabad. When they arrested the robbers at that time they were planning to execute a robbery.
At the time of the preliminary investigations, the gang members revealed that they have executed 15 robberies in different places of Rajasthan, Punjab, U.P and Bihar. The arrested gang used to target the weak and discourteous ATM users. During January 2014, they have withdrawn Rs 37000 from Ajmer, Rs 7000 in Jaipur, Rs 65000 from Makrana in February, Rs 21000 from Ludhiana in November 2014, Rs 27000 from Bhatla in Hansi in February 2015, Rs 20000 from Banaras in UP, Rs 15000 from Purnima in Bihar, Rs 55000 from Ratia, Rs 29000 from Bikaner, Rs 27000 from Ayodhya in UP and One lac eighty-five thousand from Pundri in Kaithal.Sangeeta said that still there is much more to be known from the further investigation.
The gang used to execute their plan by replacing their ATM cards with the cards of the innocent people and then they used to utilize their cards and withdraw money. They normally used to target the ATMS of the Punjab National Bank. This was possible as there used to be no security guards on their ATMs booths.On such an achievement of police team she said, that they will reward the police team with the cash prize and letters of admiration.
The Superintendent of Police of Fatehabad, Sangeeta Kalia was on Saturday transferred following his spat with Haryana health minister Anil Vij.
Anil Vij had, on Friday, ordered the woman police officer to get out of the conference room after an argument with her in the meeting. Sangeeta Kalia was transferred on Saturday.
Health Minister Anil Vij and SP Sangeeta Kalia had a spat during the meeting of District grievances and Public relations Committee. DC NK Solanki was also present here.
The argument started as the minister questioned Sangeeta Kalia about the illegal sale of liquor in the region. Anil Vij asked about what steps were taken by the police to stop it to which Kalia replied that nearly 25000 cases have been registered in the case which was a record.
However, this does not satisfied Vij and the spat continued. Thereafter, the minister asked Kalia to get out but she refused to leave the room. Thus, Anil Vij immediately left the meeting room. He had mentioned about bringing up the matter to Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
