However, Shilpa called Keshav’s brother Thirumala Reddy on Sunday and informed him that her husband had left for his hometown near Madanapalle ( Chittoor district) in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday evening and had not heard from him since then.
A WOMAN’s seemingly unimpeachable phone call to her in-laws asking the whereabouts of her husband and the technology to find out the caller’s location helped the Bengaluru police crack the gruesome murder of a techie in India’s IT capital.
Keshav Reddy, a software engineer working for Actiance India Limited in Langford Town, was allegedly killed on Saturday night by his wife Shilpa Reddy. Shilpa laced her husband?s juice with sleeping pills, bludgeoned his head with a blunt weapon and dumped his body next to a lake in Srinivaspura in Kolar district on Saturday night with the help of her cousin and lover Vasudev.
The police said Shilpa was married to Keshav, both hailing from Andhra Pradesh, and lived in Banaswadi ( North Bengaluru).
Apparently, Shilpa intended to marry Vasudev and settle abroad. The duo hatched a plan to eliminate Keshav.
Shilpa and her parents pretended as if they knew nothing about Keshav?s disappearance.
However, Shilpa called Keshav?s brother Thirumala Reddy on Sunday and informed him that her husband had left for his hometown near Madanapalle ( Chittoor district) in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday evening and had not heard from him since then.
Thirumala became suspicious because Keshav always informed his parents before visiting his hometown. By then, on Sunday, the Kolar district police found Keshav?s body.
Meanwhile, Thirumala had filed a complaint.
” We checked Shilpa?s mobile phone location. The mobile phone tower indicated that she was in the vicinity of the lake late Saturday night,” a police officer said.
Shilpa admitted to the crime during police interrogation.
