Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will be facing Judgement Day on Wednesday as the verdict on his long standing hit and run case will be announced. After years of trial, a judge will finally announce the verdict on the hit and run case, filed against the actor for allegedly running his SUV on pavement dwellers.
While all eyes are going to be glued on the TV screens and the news about his hit and run case verdict will be grabbing headlines, Bollywood producers are hoping for a silver lining to come their way. Why? More than 200 crore investment is already riding on the actor. Not just that, as many as half a dozen films are already in the pipeline with big banners involved.
If Salman's found guilty and convicted on Wednesday, here's how the verdict will affect the Bollywood producers and directors..
Eros and Kabir Khan:
Salman has been busy wrapping up Kabir's much anticipated action-drama Bajrangi Bhaijaan. While the film is nearing completion, Salman's verdict has stalled all their marketing plans. A source from the company informs, "Eros is awaiting the verdict on his case to move ahead with their Bajrangi Bhaijaan plan." With about two months left for the film to hit theatres, the trailer is not yet out. Not even the poster has been unveiled by the makers. If Salman goes to jail, Eros and Kabir will face the biggest setback for sure.
Rajshri and the Barjatyas:
After playing Bajrangi, Salman's all set to reprise his lover-boy Prem avatar in Sooraj Barjatya's upcoming release Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Almost 80 percent of the film has been shot and the remaining was planned to be shot once Salman finishes BB. Now, if Salman is convicted, all their plans will go down the drain as the actor and the makers will then have to make special arrangements to complete the film.
If the verdict goes against Salman, the worst affected would be Karan. Why? the director had finally got our Sallu miyan on board for his magnum opus Shhuddhi, after much cajoling. Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor walked out of the project and Karan's film was on the back-burner. Now, the film which was supposed to go on floors this year might again face the back-burner if Salman is convicted and that would again mean that Karan has to either wait for Salman or look for someone else to replace him.
Aditya Chopra had teamed up with Salman for the first time in Ek Tha Tiger and the records were smashed right away. Cashing in on Salman's supreme star power at the box office, Adi thought of associating with Salman one more time. this time, for Ali Abbas Zafar's Sultan. While the actor had given a nod to the project, now with his judgement impending, we wonder which way it will finally be going!
